Tutoring

Why Tutoring Works

In-Person Perks

Data collected by the U.S Department of Education before and during the COVID-19 pandemic shows that "in-person learning, on the whole, leads to better academic outcomes, greater levels of student engagement, and better social and emotional well-being".

Benefits of learning with a tutor

One-on-one Enviornment

With a private tutor, a student's individual needs are better recognized and addressed. This allows for a personalized approach that caters to each student's learning style. Additionally, students often feel less anxious and frustrated at the absence of distractions and classroom pressure.

Academic Performance

A recent study conducted by the San Bernadino Valley College showed that students who received tutoring saw an increase of 12% in their standardized tests. What's more, they surpassed their non-tutored peers by nearly 90% in 45/52 subjects! In general, students who receive tutoring get better grades and are more likely to graduate from college.

Important Study habits

In order to succeed, a student will need to create effective habits. Private tutors can teach students how to manage homework, how to organize classwork, and how to set goals for the future. Building on these skills will not only benefit students academically, but will prepare them for their careers as well.

Tutor Training Curriculum

Learning Bridge is proud to announce its partnership with Ms. Kelly Way!

Ms. Way is currently a Geometry teacher at Valley Christian High School and has been teaching for over 25 years! She has a masters degree in education and is trained in occupational therapy. She is constantly asking herself, “How will the brains of students optimally process new learning?”  In 2012-14 her master’s thesis studied digital technology and its reshaping of cognitive processing. From this master’s thesis, she developed what she nicknamed “Brain-in-Hand” learning. "Brain-in-Hand" incorporates methods that encourage kinesthetic learning and gradually work towards student independence. Learning Bridge Foundation is proud to announce that we will be utilizing Ms. Way's curriculum to train our tutors!
